Set up Explyt after installation

This page continues the quickstart and describes the built-in initial setup wizard in Explyt.

1. Open the initial setup​

If the wizard did not open automatically, open the tool window through View | Tool Windows | Explyt. On the Get started screen, begin the setup with the Continue button.

2. Choose how to connect​

On the Choose a plan step, pick one of the plans:

  • Personal — models included in the Explyt subscription;
  • Community — connect the provider of your choice using your own credentials;
  • Enterprise — connect to a corporate platform.

3. Choose the interface​

On the Choose interface step, pick the option that suits you, following the explanations on the screen, then click Continue.

4. Configure the model and the connection​

Personal​

  1. Click Log in and complete the sign-in for your Explyt account. This page does not describe the external sign-in screen: its appearance and the set of fields may change independently of the plugin.
  2. Return to the IDE and wait for the available providers and models to load.
  3. Choose a model and continue the setup.

This branch is done when Explyt considers the account authorized, shows the available models, and lets you move on. The message Please sign in to your account to continue. means that sign-in is not finished yet.

Community​

  1. Click Log in and complete the sign-in for your Explyt account so the plugin can load the list of providers.
  2. Choose a provider and add its settings and API key. Ollama does not require a key. For Ollama and OpenAI Compatible, specify the URL.
  3. Wait for the list of models, choose a model, and continue the setup.

This branch is done when Explyt accepts the provider settings and shows the selected model. The message Models not available. Please check your provider configuration. means you need to check the provider parameters, the URL, or the key.

Enterprise​

  1. Enter the Enterprise API key issued by your organization.
  2. Wait for the corporate account to be authorized and the models to load.
  3. Choose a model and continue the setup.

This branch is done when Explyt accepts the key and shows the selected model. If you see Models not available. Please check your API key. or a message about a Personal key, ask your administrator for the correct Enterprise key.

If the check does not pass, do not substitute random values. Compare the URL, the key, and the model with the data from your provider or your organization. For problems with installation and the first sign-in, use first launch troubleshooting.

5. Set your preferences​

On the Preferences screen, choose a language: English, Russian, or Chinese. Finish the wizard with the Continue button.

After the setup, Explyt may offer a tutorial in a notification. You can also open it later from the Tutorial section of the Explyt settings.

6. Verify the result​

  1. Make sure an available model is selected.
  2. Create a chat and send a safe question in Ask mode, as described in the quickstart.
  3. If you get an answer, the initial setup is complete.

Next, you can prepare Explyt to work with your project, configure access to files and tools, and review data, privacy, and security.
