System requirements, updating, and uninstalling
Supported IDEs
As of 23 July 2026, Explyt is available for IDE versions 2025.1 through 2026.1.
The documentation lists the following IDEs:
- IntelliJ IDEA Community and Ultimate;
- Android Studio;
- PyCharm, GoLand, Rider, WebStorm, and PhpStorm.
The range of compatible versions and the available features may differ between IDEs. Before installing, check that Explyt is available in your IDE's plugin manager and review the feature matrix. For IDE 2026.2 and other versions outside the stated range, confirm compatibility with support.
For the minimum OS version, processor architecture, free disk space, proxy, certificate, and network address requirements, check with support or your administrator.
The JDK and Gradle versions listed in the source repository are needed to develop and build the plugin. As an Explyt user, you do not need to install them separately for that reason.
Installation
Follow the steps from the quickstart: add https://repository.explyt.dev/, install Explyt through the plugin manager, and restart the IDE when it prompts you to.
Updating
If the Update Plugin Automatically option is enabled in the plugin manager, compatible updates are installed by the IDE. Follow the plugin manager prompts to restart.
Before a downgrade or a rollback, confirm the compatibility of that version with support. After an update:
- open Explyt and check the selected plan and model;
- send a safe read-only prompt;
- if there is a problem, check installation and first sign-in and the active configuration.
Uninstalling
Remove Explyt through the standard IDE plugin manager and perform the restart the IDE suggests.
Before cleaning up manually, review and save any team settings you need: the project .explyt directories, the Memory Bank, the MCP configuration, ignore files, and IDE settings. To remove all local data and your account completely, ask support for the current procedure. Do not delete unfamiliar directories by hand.
